The Exeter Express brought the bats to Thorndale, but the Sox had their own fireworks to display.
After a home run tied the game at 10 in the 4th, Johnson speared a line shot at third to end the top half of the inning. From then on it was Sox hits, and lots of them. Henderson was up to his old tricks, hitting a home run with his helmet choking him for half of his run. Strom, Tubman, Mercer, Stevens, Hutson and Johnson added doubles. Morrison, Tubman, and Stiles demonstrated the value of hustle, each beating out close plays at first.
But it wasn't all offense. Morrison made all three outs in the bottom of the 4th, and several other outs throughout the game. McMillan was sold on defense as well at second base. Stiles did a "Pitching Circle Dance" to make a great play to Richardson at first, as well as a stellar play from right field to open the game, also to Richardson at first. After being without opposition since July 28th, the Sox played spectacularly well! 10 out of 10 as we gear up for SOBA. Next up are the Mitchell Astros in Mitchell on Tuesday!
