Sox Bounce Back in Aylmer!
After a tough loss to a superb Mitchell Astros team, the Black Sox brought their "A" game to Aylmer on Monday night.
Up and down the lineup, the Sox were strong, with doubles coming from Morrison, Arnold, Wright, Richardson, Stevens, Johnson, Strom, and Mercer. There were too many well hit balls to mention, from all 10 players. And it was consistency with fundamentals on defense that was most impressive for the coaching staff. Two-handed tags by Tubman and McMillan, excellent coverage by Johnson and Richardson in left and right field, superb outfield two-handed fly ball catches by Mercer and Stevens, and hustle across the board, were among the impressive feats displayed by this fantastic rookie select team!
The boys head into their most exciting tournament of the year this weekend (SOBA playoffs), with an opener against Ancaster at 4:30 on Friday, on diamond #2 in Thorndale.
The Sox are seeded 5th in the 12-team double-knockout tournament, to be held in Thamesford/Thorndale this weekend.
