Mosquito win Silver in Mitchell
Our Mosquitos had a solid weekend going 4-1 and made the finals for the 3rd straight tournament.
The Diamondbacks played well in Mitchell winning their pool going 3-0 with solid victories over St.Mary's, Mt.Forest and Alvinston. Their runs against ratio gave them the #1 overall seed in the playoff round where they faced the Wild Card team in the Stratford Indians. After coming out of the gate strong building a solid lead the Diamondbacks fought had and managed to hang on for a 9-8 victory giving them a shot at the finals for the 3rd straight tournament.
In the Finals the boys ran out of steam and did not play their usual fundamental sound game. The Dbacks gave up 5 unearned runs and fell to a strong Mitchell Stars team who took the title with a 8-5 win. One positive is the boys fell behind early but did battle back and had the tying run to the plate in the final two innings and just could not push over the hump.
