Diamondbacks Back at it!
After a lengthy lay off the boys were finally back at it after nearly 3 weeks of not playing a game.
And as expected their was some rust. Unfortunately for the Diamondbacks their 1st game was on the road against a tough Ingersoll Ironbirds club which knew it was a big game. The Diamondbacks came out early with bats and put 2 runs on the board to take the lead but starter Ryker Daniel was in tough as his defense behind was a little rusty and 3 errors and some control issues saw the Ironbird strike for 4 of the own. The 2nd inning saw the Ironbirds continue the pressure striking for 6 more runs and taking a commanding lead. Colin Langstaff come on to stop the bleeding and managed to hold them to only one more run the rets of the way but the D'back bats were silent and only managed to but up 5 more runs the rest of the way and they dropped only their 6th game of the year 11-6 and allowed the Ironbirds to tighten their grip on 2nd place.
