This program bridges the gap between 6U and 9U divisions. Team structure will be similar to 9U however, will only be played with 7 year old participants to lessen any intimidation they may feel.

This program is an introduction to baseball for boys and girls. Pitching is done by a pitching machine. Travel for games consists of Dorchester and area (house league only).

Tryout Fee

Each player wishing to tryout for a competitive (including ‘Select’) team will be required to pay a $50 tryout fee. All players must be registered and have paid the tryout fee before trying out. The tryout fee is non-refundable.

A competitive team fee will be assessed to players who are selected to a competitive (including Select) team.

Faith Bond

It is the responsibility of each family to provide volunteer time for DMBA. Each registrant is required to have volunteer time completed (i.e. 1 ‘job’ must be completed per player). Activities to meet this requirement include: Sponsorship ($300), Executive Committee member, Coach, Assistant Coach, Score Keeper (1 per team), Equipment Manager (1 per team), Team Manager (1 per team), 6U Volunteer (4 nights per season), Summer Slam tournament volunteer, raffle draw support, etc.

Raffle Tickets

Each DMBA registrant must purchase 1 book of raffle tickets. Raffle tickets can be sold to recuperate the cost. Raffle tickets are non-refundable. Each book of raffle tickets consists of 10 tickets at a cost of $5 each.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Leagues
Dorchester Minor Baseball Association (DMBA) participates in two leagues. 

Competitive (including Select) teams will compete within the London & District Baseball Association (LDBA) league.  Tryouts for competitive teams will be held to determine team rosters.  Travel for games consists of London and area. 

Local league teams will compete within the <league to be determined for 2022>.  Players are placed on local league teams based on the number of registrants in a given division.  No tryouts for local league teams will be held. Travel for games  consists of Dorchester and area. 

 

Registration

Registration forms will be provided through the DMBA website.  Payments will be made by etransfer.  Players planning to participate in a Rep or Select team tryout must be registered and pay the tryout fee by January 15, 2022.  All other registrations must be received by March 15, 2022. 

Sponsorship

DMBA seeks sponsorship each season to offset various association costs.  Sponsors of $300 will receive a company name on the back of jerseys for 1 team (no logo), a company logo on the DMBA website (home page and team page) and a link to a company website or email address on the DMBA website.  Sponsorship can be used to cover a family’s faith bond requirement (for registered families only).  Sponsorship monies will be accepted by cheque.

 

Late Fees

A late registration fee of $75.00 per player will be assessed starting March 16, 2022.  Registration will only be permitted if space in the appropriate division exists.  Late fees do not apply to the 6U division.

 

Equipment & Uniform Requirements

Uniforms will be supplied by DMBA and costs have been included in your registration.  In-person uniform sizing nights will be scheduled at a later date.  On the registration form you will be asked to select the player's size for ball pants, shirts and hats.  Gloves, batting helmets, bats and jocks are required to be supplied by the player.
