Children are taught basic skills such as throwing, catching and base running.

Each session may consist of a combination of skill development, game experience, and other active play/games.

Expected to be scheduled on Monday or Wednesday evenings from late May to late July.

This program bridges the gap between 5U/6U and 9U divisions. Team structure will be similar to 9U however, will only be played with 7 year old participants to lessen any intimidation they may feel.

Scheduling for 7U will be determined after the completion of registration and upon naming a Head Coach.

This program is an introduction to baseball for boys and girls. Pitching is done by a pitching machine. Travel for games consists of Dorchester and area (house league only).

Tryout Fee

Each player wishing to tryout for a Rep or Select team will be required to pay a $65 tryout fee. All players must be registered for tryouts before trying out. The tryout fee is non-refundable.

Raffle Tickets

Each DMBA registrant must purchase 1 book of raffle tickets. Raffle tickets can be sold to recuperate the cost. Raffle tickets are non-refundable. Each book of raffle tickets consists of 10 tickets at a cost of $5 each.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Leagues
Dorchester Minor Baseball Association (DMBA) participates in two leagues. 

Competitive (Rep and Select) teams will compete within the London & District Baseball Association (LDBA) league.  Tryouts for Rep and Select teams will be held to determine team rosters.  Travel for games consists of London and area. 

Local league teams will compete within the LDBA/EBBA House League.  Players are placed on local league teams based on the number of registrants in a given division.  No tryouts for house league teams will be held. Travel for games  consists of Dorchester and area. 

Scheduling
Scheduling for all divisions with typically be determined after the completion of registration and upon the naming the Head Coach.  

 

Registration

Registration forms will be provided through the DMBA website.  (New! for 2026) Payments will be made by credit card. 
Players planning to participate in a Rep team tryout must pay the tryout fee by October 4, 2024.  Registration and raffle ticket fees are due by January 15, 2025. 
Players planning to participate in a Select team tryout must pay the tryout, registration and raffle ticket fees by January 15, 2025.  All other registrations must be received by March 15, 2025. 

Sponsorship

DMBA seeks sponsorship each season to offset various association costs.  Sponsors of $300 or more will receive a company logo and link to a company website and/or email on the DMBA. Sponsorship monies will be accepted by cheque.

 

Late Fees

A late registration fee of $75.00 per player will be assessed starting March 16, 2026.  Registration will only be permitted if space in the appropriate division exists.  Late fees do not apply to the 5U/6U division.

 

Equipment & Uniform Requirements

Uniforms will be supplied by DMBA and costs have been included in your registration.  In-person uniform sizing nights will be scheduled at a later date.  On the registration form you will be asked to select the player's size for ball pants, shirts and hats.  Gloves, batting helmets, bats and jocks are required to be supplied by the player. Pants will not be supplied for the 5U/6U division.
