D-Backs Back to .500 with Impressive Win!
The Ilderton Athletics and our own Diamondbacks went head to head in a thriller Tuesday night at Heritage Park.
It was a pitching masterpiece from the Diamondbacks, as Johnson, MacMillan and Pettit (a.k.a. Osuna) contributed spectacularly from the hill. The boys also took their bats off of their shoulders, enjoying doubles from Zeleznik, Stevens, MacMillan, and Pettit, among other nice hits. After being plunked in London, Richardson showed no signs of fear with three solid at-bats. Johnson, Mercer, and Richardson each scored three times. Box reached base drawing a walk, and Wallace scored Mercer on a fielder's choice. Tubman and Arnold each reached base twice. Player of the game honours go to Colin MacMillan for the best strike ratio to date, at 25 balls, 34 strikes. Pettit struck out the side in the 5th, on 8 balls and 9 strikes. Stevens receives mention with 3 innings of excellent backcatching, 3 for 3, and some fine base running.
