Diamondbacks Demonstrate Skills in Loss to Ingersoll
Dorchester played 5 strong innings, despite the score.
Throughout the game, the boys showed improvement and understanding in coverage, play selection, plate awareness, and base-running aggression. They continue to improve on recognizing offensive signs, and making routine plays. Box, Wallace and Zeleznik contributed with fine putouts, while all three pitchers (Pettit, Stevens and Richardson) were exceptional, while Johnson and Arnold were solid behind the plate. Offensively, the boys made some solid contact, and we will continue to work on that in practice. Arnold (fielder's choice), Box(BB with bases loaded) got RBIs as Box and Richardson(2) scored for the D-Backs. Tubman reached based on both plate appearances. Stevens receives player of the game for recording 5 K's over 2.2 innings (27 balls, 33 strikes), and a fine defensive play in the 2nd inning. Next up are the London West Tincaps on Monday!
