Slushies for Everyone!
It was the promise of Slushies that sparked the D-Backs on Sunday morning!
Head Coach Stevens made a promise to the boys that a "bat-around" inning would earn them each a Slushie after the next practice. It turned out to be a mistake for Coach Stevens, as the boys batted around, on their way to a 23-14 win over the Markham Mariners on Sunday morning at Optimist Park in Stratford.
Getting the to the quarterfinal the hard way, by winning the tie-break over two other teams at 1-2, the Diamondbacks came out strong, sending 9 batters to the plate in the first inning. Stevens, Zeleznik, and Box were strong on the hill for Dorchester, but the real story was the offense. The Diamondbacks hit so many balls deep, we lost track!
