Strong Start, Weak Finish for the D-Backs
The Minor Mosquito team fell 19-3 to the Cardinals in this one.
A super pitching performance by Richardson, and the first three D-Backs batters crossed the pate (Mercer, Stevens, and Wallace) thanks to a 2-out single by Tubman.
It was D-Backs 3, St Thomas 2 after one frame.
But that was it for the home squad, as focus issues got the better of the boys mid to late game.
There were some bright moments for sure, but not nearly enough to overcome the blunders in this one.
The boys learned that it takes 7 innings of ball to prevail!
One of the bright spots was the play of Colin Arnold, who receives player of the game honours for his defense at catcher and 2nd base! Congrats!
The boys get some rest now....enjoy the weekend!
