2023 Season ~ Update
Players & Parents,
I have been trying to get us organized for the season and have some key dates to make you aware off....
Uniform Fitting Night / Bond Cheques / Raffle Tickets
There will be a uniform fitting night(s) on Mar 7th and 22nd 7pm as listed on the DMA Website ~ on that night you can be fitted for New Pants, a dry fit shirt and a fitted hat to get you started for the season. The DMBA is also wanting you at that time to drop off your Bond Cheques or you may also do an e-transfer as listed on the DMBA website. If you do an e-transfer they will issue a cheque back once your bond hours are completed.
As for our REP Team uniforms ~ we are going to go with the ones we had last season for returning players as we had Home and Away jerseys. So to keep the expense down we will just order any jersey's that need replacing do to size issues or for the new players and coaches that need a set. I will try to catch up to the 3 new players and Coach Mike to get their sizes as soon asap to get those on order ~ anybody with jersey issues let me know.
Team Hats ~ we will be doing an upgraded hat as well this season but may start with just the basic hat to get us going ~ the upgraded hats will likely have #'s.
Home Game Nights ~
Our home game nights will be Thursday nights at 8:30pm on Royal Field. Any over flow games or games that are bumped will be on the Field of Dreams Diamond likely on Mondays at 8:30pm as that is likely are practice time but that has not been confirmed.
The entire year schedule will be determined on a scheduling night on April 24th ~ If there are any key dates like graduation or late school trips I should know about let me know so we are not caught short on players
I would appreciate you letting me know any holiday plans or work schedule issues as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly and make sure we have the players we need in terms of numbers.
Tournaments ~ Playoffs ~ OBA's
As of the moment we are in 2 Tournaments ~ we will have 1 overnight in Orillia mid-May to get us started as a team ~ this get us on the field and get some good games in early ~ our 2nd tournament will be our Home Summer Slam Tourney in June ~ it will be an 8 team tournament with a chance to play in front of friends and family. I am looking to possibly play one more in July but most have been booked up so I will see what I can come up with.
OBA "C" Championship ~
Although we lost our bid to host this tournament in mid-August we still will be going to Kingsville for sure to represent the LDBA as there is no other "C" classifying team
LDBA Playoffs ~ Host
We will be strangely enough hosting this after OBA's ~ actually the week after at Royal Field and the Field Dreams Park ~ to end our year.
Team Building ~ Blue Jays Game
I will try to secure a date for the group to attend a Blue Jays game together this season as a team and night out on the town. Date and game to be determined.
