PLAYING RULES
1. The Ontario Baseball Association 2025 10U/11U Play-off Rules shall apply.
2. As per OBA RP5.5 At the beginning of each game, the home and visiting team designation will be decided by a coin toss. The team coming the greater distance will make the call. All coin tosses will be completed 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. Coin tosses will take place by a tournament convenor at the game’s assigned diamond. A member of your coaching staff must arrive at the diamond 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time to take the coin toss. At the conclusion of the coin toss, the home team will be designated the official score keeper and the official pitch counter.
3. Game Changer must be used for all score keeping. The OBA Pitch Count app must be used (with pitches entered live) for all pitch counting. As stated above, the home team will be the official scorekeeper and the official pitch counter.
4. Games will commence promptly on time as per the schedule. Games may begin up to 30 minutes before the posted schedule time.
5. Ejection from any tournament game will result in an automatic one game suspension. Suspensions may be increased, depending on the severity of the infraction.
6. A team’s turn at bat in an inning will end after three outs have been recorded or four runs have been scored. The last inning will have an eight-run maximum.
7. On any play where the last allowed run in an inning is as a result of the ball leaving the playing field and the awarding of home base (ie: home run, overthrow, etc) results in more than the maximum runs allowed in an inning scoring, all awarded runs will score; this only applies to dead ball awards.
8. The following mercy rules shall apply at 10U/11U only:
i. 18 runs after 3 innings
ii. 15 runs after 4 innings
iii. 10 runs after 5 innings
iv. 9 runs after 6 innings.
If the home team leads by mercy after the top half of any such inning, the game shall be considered a mercy and the home team will not bat.
9. No new inning shall be permitted to start after 2 hours have elapsed from the start of the game. No time limit during the final championship game.
10. In all Rep Play‐off tournament games and all play‐off round games of regular season tournaments must have a winner declared, so extra innings are to be played regardless of the time limit.
