Two in a Row for the Rookie Select Black Sox and They Reach .500!
The DMBA Rookie Select Black Sox reached the .500 plateau with a win over the visiting Pirates from Aylmer tonight in Exhibition play in Thorndale!
The Sox hit well and often in this one, jumping out to an 11-0 lead after two frames. Stevens went 6 for 6 in the lead-off spot, and scored 5 times on the night, while Henderson, Hutson, Tubman, and Mercer each crossed the plate 4 times. Strong defense also played a part for the win, as fine plays were offered up by Morrison, Hutson, and Arnold. The team worked on coverage at 2nd base, and performed very well. The Sox are also falling into a nice trend of coverage all over the field, while still maintaining ownership of their positions. There are many great things happening out there on a regular basis. Great job, boys! Next up for the Sox is a strong St. Marys team, who visit Thorndale next Thursday, June 16th.
