3 In a Row for the Sox!
The bats were cold in the first two innings, but the Sox turned it around in a big way!
The Rookie Selects rallied for 7 runs in the 3rd to make it a one-run game against the visiting St. Marys Rookie Rep squad. The highlight reel started early as Stiles snagged a line drive at second that everyone thought was through easily. It was a gem of a defensive game for all of the boys. Johnson laid out at first, but maintained contact with the bag to get the out on a wide throw from Stevens at short. Hutson made a blistering ground ball at third look like a routine play. And many teammates add smooth-looking ground ball outs. On the offensive side, Henderson added two homers, while Tubman drove a 4-baser of his own. Wright and Henderson were each perfect on the night, going 4 for 4. In all, the Black Sox scored 17 times on their way to a 17-15 victory. Next up for the Sox are the strong visiting Indians from Stratford on June 23rd at 7:00.
