Late Night Fireworks in Innisfil!
The Sox were fired up and ready to play their best game of the season, as they powered through the lineup under the lights, Friday in Innisfil, en route to a 19-4 win!
The top half of the first saw a couple of errors in the field, which turned into 2 runs for the opposing Royals, but the Sox settled in, and played like champs the rest of the way. The Sox half of the first was started off with a double from Stevens, followed by sharp hits from Henderson, Hutson, Johnson, and Arnold. And with that, the score was tied. The Black Sox did a super job getting used to the new 3-strike rule at the plate, as they jumped on early pitches for hits. Wright and Arnold made difficult fly ball outs, as Strom and Mercer added superb ground ball outs. Overall offensively, the team was excellent, but Richardson was especially strong at the plate, going 3 for 3, and driving in 4. The game's MVP honours go to Colin McMillan, who hit 3 of the hardest balls of the night, and made 3 stellar defensive plays in the infield. Great start to the tournament, boys!
